I'm just happy that I'm shifting stuff to #python :-)
From ben_j_lindsay on Twitter: One of the most underrated #Pandas functions in #Python is .query(). I use it all the time.
data = data.query('age==42')

looks so much nicer than:
data = data[data['age'] == 42]

And it allows chaining like:
data = data.query('age >18').query('age < 32')

The claim that mentioning the word "slave" is offensive or shocking helped stir things up at #python

Good luck proving that
1) founder stepped down to avert all this
2) corporations behind it

binutils binutils-common binutils-x86-64-linux-gnu cli-common libbinutils libgdiplus libglib2.0-cil libgtk2.0-cil libmono-cairo4.0-cil
  libmono-corlib4.5-cil libmono-i18n-west4.0-cil libmono-i18n4.0-cil libmono-posix4.0-cil libmono-security4.0-cil
  libmono-system-configuration4.0-cil libmono-system-core4.0-cil libmono-system-drawing4.0-cil libmono-system-numerics4.0-cil
  libmono-system-security4.0-cil libmono-system-xml4.0-cil libmono-system4.0-cil mono-4.0-gac mono-gac mono-runtime mono-runtime-common
  mono-runtime-sgen pdfmod

I remain deeply concerned, more so than my wife who actually studies and programs in #python , that Python's biggest event sponsor is now #microsoft and Python reciprocates with #azure ads
A part of me will always feel, even in absence of hard evidence, that Guido van Rossum stepped aside from #python seeing that the "master and slave, THAT'S OFFENSIVE!" crowd was only going to corrode/harm his name. Guido: I don't wanna deal with this shit. Bye.

ttys suck

I'm trying to launch an interactive shell via a Python wrapper around ssh... and neither tty.setraw() nor tty.setcbreak() seem to do what I need.

Now I have to figure out termios and tcsetattr(). Ugh, Unix legacy.
