I already found something I don't like about opencloud but it's not enough to get me back on NC. The desktop sync app has a top level folder it always syncs, i used to sync documents folder directly but now it's nested in a personal folder. I can symlink to get around that but lame. And the android app is still in beta, they forked it from the owncloud app that is locked down from the gallery. They plan for pics and videos to be visible in file system but right now it isn't. At least that is on their roadmap to change. Otherwise its way more stable than NC and fast.
Its basically the same as ICS, they have a more admin friendly philosophy which is why data is visible in filesystem on server. they haven't gotten to that on the mobile app yet. ICS was the paranoid locked down version. There's no database either, all the thumbnails and indexes are stored with data so on my nas not an ssd. It was slower to initialize but now its fine.
I've been staring out the window waiting for the damn amazon truck all day. I found a switch too, i can't really test it unless i get another 2.5 device, " title=""> I was hoping I could tell by just looking at lsusb chipset info.
I think they are dyslexic too, always mix up street number with neighbor. I've woke up to find door dash food left on the front stoop overnight drivers left there. retards
@foxcat I'm looking at all the ones with this chipset RTL8156B, guaranteed 2.5gb. I can get away with usb-c on two devices so don't need type a adapter. New mini has usb c in front panel. amazon.com/gp/product/B0D7YSB3…
@verita84 Did anyone here managed to freshly install the latest #Nextcloud client and signup with an up-to-date server version? 31.0.7 is on my server.

AH. I am surprised that they didn't advertise the filesystem advantage on their Github

verita84
in reply to Rock DJ • • •@dj @foxcat
Yes, the HDD speed was the bottleneck , 120-130MB/s
But I can do 100 MB/s backups now, so that kinda helps

There will always be something to jew you down.
I am using 7200 RPM drives in RAID 1......this is the best I get? 120-130 MB/s ? gay

Why can't Linux natively?
verita84
in reply to Rock DJ • • •@dj @foxcat
Or you need lvm cache tondo that

verita84
in reply to Rock DJ • • •@dj @foxcat
Looks like adding the LVM cache adds complexity when shit hits the fan
Rock DJ
in reply to verita84 • • •Yeah, I don't have two spare ssd for that and convert raid to LVM too. Ssd speed on HDD raid would be nice though.

Proxmox can backup to the local storage instead of the NAS.....maybe that will be better and faster

Rock DJ
in reply to verita84 • • •Yeah you could add an SSD to the local LVM and back up to that and use Cron to move it to raid later.

I think I got a way to use the network. I got 2 drives , USB, RAID 0
Look at those speeds
