How long is a post's "notifier task pending"?

Hi, I had a post that seemed to be hanging indefinitely. I decided to reload the page and the post shows up, but appears to be in a perpetual state of "notifier task is pending"...

Will that eventually change? Should I delete the post and repost it? Or is it lying and the software has actually done whatever pending tasks it had?

It can be that your system is overloaded or your worker settings are too low. The system uses the worker to deliver content. But when you - for example - execute the worker only every 10 minutes and don't setup a sufficient number of parallel worker jobs, then it can take some time.
