Got a new Aircondition in the Basement with #Tuya support. But it looks like same trool stuf as with #Matter . It looks like these Tuya stuff needs a #Cloud connection too, also when using #localtuya via #HACS in #HomeAssistant .
Are people really #ignoring #products and #companies entering their very #privat #space collecting data and maybe even more - listenig , recording videos -
I can not believe so much people misses minimal IT education to not understand the consequences......

But even worse to extract the local_key you need a developer account on the extrem slow Tuya site.
Need to go through this to connect the aircondition to local_tuya on HA via a Tuya VLAN and block Inet when things works.
But: every Matter or Tuya product will never be bought in the future.

And I guess you know what "cloud" means: Someone else's server, so not yours and it isn't in your control. So you have an aircon that wants to connect to the Internet? What is the manual saying about the reasons? My fan here just runs and cools my skin.
